Raipur International Cricket Stadium (Raipur)

Another of the most important stadiums in the country is located in Raipur, specifically Chathisgarh. The Raipur International Cricket Stadium is one of the most modern stadiums in the country - it was built in 2008 -, has the best facilities for both spectators and athletes and has a capacity of 65,000 spectators. The first match in its facilities was played between the Canadian national team and the Chhattisgarh Cricket Team in November 2010, since then it is the official stadium of this team and hosts all kinds of international matches.

Two English cricket teams play a game on Everest

Two intrepid cricket teams played today the "highest" game in the world on a slope of Mount Everest, at 5,168 meters altitude, a feat with which they have sneaked into the books of records. Players, technicians, medical professionals and spectators made the expedition to the Himalayas to surpass the record in a ground sport played at the highest possible altitude. To celebrate the curious encounter, a group of about 50 people previously made a hiking route for nine days until reaching the chosen site, at 5,168 meters high, just above the Everest base camp. Some locals helped to condition the playing field, moving stones and rocks, for both teams, named Hillary, the winner, and Tenzing. The captain of the Hillary, the Londoner Glen Lowis, who normally is dedicated to marketing, described the expedition as one of the "most memorable experiences" of his life.
